Evolve

Evolve is a Action / Adventure game where the player controls en isect-like alien in a giant world. He will have to survive all the strange creatures on his way to to get a chance to be free.

Project realized on Unity.

Gameplay

The player can use a various set of mechanics : attack, charge, dodge and grab. The main aspect of the game is the fight against creature you will encounter all along the world, so the main ability is obviously the attack moves. 
The attack set is a 3 hit combo aiming at the closest ennemy, or in the input direction. On hit, the game will freeze during some frames to significate the strength of the strike, in addition to a knockbackon the enemy hit.

To help him during fight, the player can use a grab and a dodge to move himself on the battle area. As the enemies have a weight property, the grab will act differently if the target is considered as light or heavy. On the first hand, lights enemies will get attracted to the player's character, granting him the opportunity to hit him. On the other hand, when ussing the grab on heavy enemies, the character will get dragged away to his target, which is useful to move fast during a fight.

The final main ability is the rush, allowing the player to move fast on the map, and hit enemies with a strong knockback. The interest of this mechanic is its gamefeel, because I made a real work on this ability's camera, with a delay on turns to feel the inertia of the characteror camera shakes on hits.
